Into Work

What is Into Work?

The aim of the course is to develop your skills and your experience so you have a definite and positive foundation after leaving college.

Into Work is delivered both in college and at work-based placements.

At college you will learn and develop employment skills in small group sessions. You will then have the opportunity to put these skills in to practice at a work placement, which is supported by our Job Coaches and teaching staff.

We are flexible to each student’s needs and preferences, offering graduated support throughout the work placement. These work placements are generally volunteer or social enterprises, but if a student is capable of independent paid employment then we will support them to gain it.

The qualification, which runs parallel to the work placements, covers a wide range of employment skills at different educational levels, depending on each student’s ability. Students do not have to take an English or maths qualification on this course but we will support them to maintain or increase their skills; our aim is to be flexible to each student to enable and empower them to achieve.

Who can apply?

The course is for ages 19-25+. There is no formal entry requirement; you should like practical learning, enjoy being around people and be working at Entry Level 1. You must not be in full time employment and if you are 25+ years old you must also be receiving benefits.
