Meet the team

Olly Connolly – Work Placements Manager

I am passionate about what we do in the WorkStart team, my enjoyment comes from seeing the huge progress students make on the course.

Work can be a journey of different experiences, I’ve pushed trolleys for a supermarket, packed radars in boxes for a warehouse and even acted in murder mystery tours! I enjoy cycling and I regularly enter a local hill climbing competition, in the ‘fat dads’ category.

Denise Barrett – Job Coach

I pride myself on supporting my students as individuals and focus on what they can achieve. I have built excellent relationships with external partners, students and their families, which all combined leads to positive and progressive outcomes.

Amanda Palmer – Senior Teaching Aide

I work as part of a brilliant team to ensure the best outcomes for the students. I encourage students and give them lots of praise. I find that I often connect through humour and my love of food with many of the students.

Fun fact about me – I did the martial art Kendo for 2 years. I have a passion for military history, visiting art galleries and good food.

Outcomes for learners are outstanding, teaching, learning and assessment are excellent and the extremely diverse programmes that meet learners’ individual needs, interests and aspirations, prepare them very well for life after College.
